An inbound link is a hyperlink back to your site from another Web site. For example there are two sites site1.com and site2.com.

If site1.com link back to site2.com then this scenerio wil be called as outbound link for site1.com and inbound link for site2.com, and vice versa.

Activity of getting inbound links with a variety of high quality backlinks helps to rank higher in the search engine results pages for any website.
