After Google, one of the text based search emerging fast is Cuil. Now Cuil will be next search tool to find any information and resources to find what ever we are looking for. While earlier efforts of Microsoft Corp and Yahoo Inc to join forces against Google failed, a group of former Google engineers and others who worked at eBay, IBM and AltaVista came with an alternative called Cuil (pronounced cool).

Cuil only does not intend to break the monopoly of Google, but also a change of mentality among users surfing. ET decided to experience the new Internet search engine cuil.com. It claims to have a larger index than any other search engine, with about 120 billion web pages. It went live on July 28, 2008.

Cuil is managed and developed in large part by former Google employees: Anna Patterson, Russell power and Louis Monier. The CEO and co-founder, Tom Costello, worked for IBM and others. The Company raised $ 33 million of venture capital firms including Greylock.
